There are as many views on Christmas as there are types of decorations but there is just one story at its origins.
The Biblical record of what we now call Christmas was written by authors who lived at the time of the birth of Christ and for which we have ancient manuscripts dating within less than 100 years of the actual events – rare indeed.
But for many people, it’s the applied meaning of the birth of Jesus Christ, his life death and resurrection, that is most relevant to their daily lives.
And for many others, none of this matters – Christmas is just good times, holidays and hopefully not arguing with family.
50 Days of Christmas: Rediscovering Peace on Earth attempts to bring some restful balance in the month and a half before Christmas by taking us back to the original story and it’s cosmic meaning.
It’s a way of making Christmas meaningful again or considering it’s meaning for the first time.
