The assessment considers structure, pacing, plot or theme development, characterisation, chapter elements and tone or voice – all in the context of market competition and expectations.

Editor
Hire an editor by-the-hour, per word or project to provide structural, copy or content editing and proofreading to release the full potential of your document or book.
A structural edit considers the overall structure and approach of the manuscript including style consistency, use of text elements, ordering of content.
A copy edit works line by line to correct spelling and grammar but also to optimise sentence and paragraph structure, check facts and sources and confirm style consistency.
Proofreading is a final check of all spelling, grammar, punctuation and formatting to ensure a manuscript is print ready.

Managing Editor
A managing editor coordinates all publishing elements including cover design, typesetting, front matter, indexing and more.
Take the guess work out of your self-publishing or corporate project by hiring a managing editor who will make trade quality recommendations for your approval and liaise with designers, printers, distributors and more.
